London is facing a dire health and homelessness crisis. Prior to the pandemic, approximately 400 Londoners were experiencing homelessness. In 2024, an estimated 2,000 individuals are experiencing homelessness, including 600 high-needs individuals. We understand the profound impact that stable housing has on individuals and communities, and we are committed to being a part of the solution.
The funds raised will help ensure the success of the ‘Whole of Community System Response to Health and Homelessness’ (now known as the Movement for Change). In the winter of 2022/23, the A Team participated in the Health and Homelessness Summit, that brought together 70 organizations to define a new way forward in our City’s response to the homelessness crisis. The plan was announced in February 2023 and calls for HUB’s and Supportive Housing to be developed in the City on an expedited basis. In the fall of 2023, the A Team sourced a 50-bed facility in Old South that was a former retirement residence. Mayor Morgan announced this development at the 2024 State of the City, made possible by four enormously generous A Team clients… Sifton Properties, Auburn Developments, The Tricar Group and Drewlo Properties.
